We’ve worked with music professionals to put together a Gigs 101 Toolkit, a step-by-step guide to effective gig planning, including :
- Setting your band up for success: EPKs and more
- Organise your gig: venues, logistics, merchandise
- On the day: safe spaces, five stages of your gig
- What now? Gig aftermath: evaluate & connect
A big shout out to Save Dunedin Live Music, and in particular Dave Bennett, Jess Covell and Craig Morunga-Birch for their time and invaluable contributions to the Gigs 101 toolkit. These guidelines are informed by the music community, for the music community.
Creative Partnerships at the Dunedin City Council
The small Creative Partnerships team works to ensure that Ōtepoti’s arts, cultural, and creative life is as vibrant and engaging as its inhabitants and that all those who call Ōtepoti home have a place in the city’s creative landscape.
At the core of what Creative Partnerships does is building relationships and supporting projects that help realise Ara Toi Ōtepoti – the Arts and Culture Strategy.
We are here to support Ōtepoti creative practitioners with advice, resources, and advocacy so that they can do what they do best, whether it’s public sculpture, improvised theatre, or a spontaneous trombone concert.
